About the Award

The Bio-Based Innovation Awards 2016 – Americas edition, is a continent wide search for the best bio-based product and chemical innovations for the year.

The award covers products currently available for purchase in North, Central or South America and that is derived from plants and other renewable agricultural, marine, and forestry materials providing an alternative to conventional petroleum derived products. The key is how the product improves on others derived from petroleum. Sustainability is not enough, however, as the judges were looking for developments in price and quality as well.
